Lynda Langham

Honorary Membership (2021)
Stephan F. Austin State University

Lynda joined Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998 as Legal Assistant to the General Counsel's office. I had the pleasure of stealing Lynda to join the Office of the Registrar at SFA in September 2008 as Associate Registrar. Upon my departure she became Interim Registrar in January 2010, and Registrar in May 2010 when they realized what a treasure they already had in the position. She retired from the position on August 31, 2021 having served 23 years with SFA. Lynda also served as adjunct faculty in the Business Communication and Legal Studies department at SFA from 2003 through 2012.

Lynda has been an active member of AACRAO, SACRAO, and TACRAO serving on various committees, attending and presenting at annual conferences. Thanks to her firm but kind personality she has been tapped for a variety of volunteer roles. She has served her community as a school board member and continues to serve her church in multiple leadership positions. People know that if they want to get the job done the right way, Lynda is the person to ask to do it. Even in retirement Lynda is not just enjoying the quiet country life. She still guides her team with a loving spirit - just these days they call her 'mom' or 'nana'. Spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren is exactly where she wants to be.

She provided the following quote: "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do." (Edward Everett Hale)
