Alfred Rodriguez

Honorary Membership (2021)
Trinity University

Fred is a passionate and accomplished fly fisherman, drone photographer, poker player, and whisky afficionado. In between all of that he made time to be a Registrar!

With over 33 years in higher education administration at both public and private institutions, Fred recently retired after 21 years as University Registrar at Trinity University in San Antonio. Before moving back to his hometown in 2000 to join the staff at Trinity, he held leadership positions in enrollment services at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and the University of Houston. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master's in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston.

Over the course of his career, Fred has been actively involved with professional organizations on the state, regional, and national level. He has conducted numerous presentations and workshops, been on several TACRAO committees, and has served in leadership positions including President of TACRAO, Chairman of the Board for the Franklin Lindsay Student Aid Fund, and Chairman of the Moody Foundation Scholar Selection Committee.

Fred provided the following quote "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man how to find the fish and he's welcome on my boat any day."

When he is not traveling in search of ultimate fishing adventures - from Canada to Costa Rica - he resides on the edge of the Texas Hill Country in Boerne, with his wife Laurie.
