Inspiring Through Leadership

Leadership is not about doing the work yourself. It is about getting work done through others, and that only happens when people actually want to bring their best. So how do you inspire that? How do you help people find real energy in what they do and stay excited about it?

This session tackles those questions head on. You will explore what genuinely motivates people, how to connect their work to something that matters, and how to lead in a way that pulls people forward instead of pushing them along.

At the center of the class is a communication preference assessment. You will learn your own preferences, learn to recognize the preferences of the people around you, and practice adapting your approach, so your message actually lands. That skill builds empathy, sharpens influence, and makes you a more strategic leader in every conversation you have.

The workshop is highly interactive, with hands on experiences throughout and tools you can take straight back to your team, including the assessment itself.

You don’t need a title to get value from this! Leadership is how you inspire and bring out the best in the people around you, whatever your role. Danny Canary leads Talent Development and Culture for Crate & Barrel. Before joining Crate & Barrel, he built leadership development and learning programs and worked at Portillo's, Ulta Beauty, Disney, United Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. Danny is passionate about helping leaders find their own voice and strengthen their results through better relationships and more strategic leadership. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Danny lives in Chicago.
