It is my pleasure to introduce TACRAO’s newest honorary member Mrs. Irene Montoya-Robinson.

Irene earned her BA in Psychology and Master of Education in Clinical Psychology/Counseling from Texas Tech University, where she also started her higher education career in 1987 as Counselor for TRIO-Programs.

Irene continued her Higher Education career at Alvin Community College for another 32 years serving, students in various roles from Academic Advisor, ADA Compliance Officer, VA Certifying Official, I-20 Certifying Official and Registrar for the last 20 years.

Irene was very active in TACRAO, frequently presenting at annual meetings, serving on committees and chairing many committees. She Served 5 years on the TACRAO Executive Committee, including TACRAO Treasurer and TACRAO President in 2017 when TACRAO conference was in South Padre Island.

Irene hobbies include - Pit Crew Chief for family Team of Drag Racers (husband & youngest son), gardening, genealogy and now babysitting her new grandson-Jack Brian Jr.

Irene provided the following quote – “A second life has begun for me after retirement with the birth of our precious new grandbaby boy – definitely the best way to stay young.”
